Paso Petcare is a full service small animal veterinary hospital dedicated to providing compassionate and high quality healthcare for companion animals.  Our beautiful facility has been a family effort and labor of love from its inception.  Owner and Veterinarian Ann Stacker, her husband Greg Killingbeck, and her sister Debbie Stacker worked together for over a year to plan, design and build our hospital.   As you look around, we hope you will appreciate the high standards we set for ourselves apparent in the extra attention to details, which make pets and their people as comfortable as possible when they visit us.  You can be assured that these same high standards and dedication will be brought to our care for your pets.

Dr. Ann dreamed of starting her own practice for many years and brought her considerable experience in small animal care, medicine and surgery to our hospital.  After graduation from UC Santa Barbara in the early seventies, she worked for a small animal veterinary hospital and then operated a horse-boarding stable for a year with Greg.   Accepted to veterinary school at UC Davis, she graduated in the top 10% of her class in 1981 and subsequently worked for two small animal hospitals in Southern California.  She also did relief work here in San Luis Obispo County for several veterinarians before our move here.   Dr. Ann has special interests in surgery and dermatology and provides a full range of services for companion animals.  Besides dogs and cats, she has worked on many varieties of exotic species including birds, reptiles, rabbits and small mammals.

Paso Petcare - Before and After Resized 2Ann and Greg owned property in the Adelaida area since 1989 and finally “put down roots” here in 2000 – starting with Paso Petcare.  Greg, with over 25 years of building and finish carpentry experience, was our general contractor for our build out and then our Facilities Manager until we lost him to cancer in 2008.  Ann and Greg’s twin daughters, Sarah and Emily were nine years-old when we opened and enjoyed “hanging out” with mom and Aunt “Debba” at our hospital.  Growing up as our business grew provided them experiences that we believe contributed to the fact that they are now accomplished scientists in their own fields of study – Immunology and Genetics.  Debbie brought a diverse background in business and customer service to Paso Petcare that is reflected in her management of our practice as our Hospital Administrator and co-owner.  She is a very hands-on, people-oriented animal lover dedicated to making our practice a positive and contributing part of our great community.

Since opening our doors on December 26, 2000, we have been extremely fortunate.  This wonderful community welcomed us with open arms and we are truly grateful.  We sincerely hope you enjoy our facility as much as we do and feel confident in bringing us your pets for care.
