Paso Petcare serves the community as a full-service small animal veterinary hospital. Since its opening over two decades ago, Paso Petcare has been dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare for companion animals. Former owner and founder Dr. Ann Stacker worked alongside her husband, Greg Killingbeck, and her sister (and co-owner), Debbie Stacker, to design and build the hospital before opening their doors in December, 2000. They then dedicated themselves to creating a comfortable environment where people are confident in the quality of care being provided to their pets.
In spring of 2021, Dr. Ann and her sister and business partner Debbie decided to sell their practice. They reached out to the owners of Atascadero Pet Hospital & Emergency Center, Dr. Aaron Schechter and Dr. Ofer Cherbinsky, to offer them the opportunity to purchase Paso Petcare. Dr. Ann and Debbie were familiar with the dedication Dr. Schechter and Dr. Cherbinsky showed their clients at Atascadero Pet Hospital, and trusted them to continue the legacy Dr. Ann and her family had built at Paso Petcare.
Dr. Schechter and Dr. Cherbinsky took ownership of Paso Petcare in June, 2021; however, they’ve been working together as practice owners of Atascadero Pet Hospital since 2007. Their experience in expanding Atascadero Pet Hospital to include an extensive, highly qualified team ready to assist clients 24/7 gave Dr. Ann and Debbie confidence in the pair’s ability to serve the community as they had for over two decades at Paso Petcare.
Dr. Schechter, Dr. Cherbinsky and the entire team remain committed to providing the same individualized, personal approach to care that our clients have come to know and love. They understand the role Paso Petcare has in the community and will strive to carry on that legacy. Dr. Schechter and Dr. Cherbinsky support the team as they continue to serve the North County.
